ACTIVITY OF BATKEN AFFILIATED BRANCH

Foundation for Tolerance International

In September of 1999 Batken regional office was created. New office was opened due to intervention of Islamic militants on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, what left in people’s memories as “Batken events”. On initial stage staff of the office conducted monitoring of situation and distribution of humanitarian aid of international organizations to local population. In May of 2003 Batken regional office was registered as Batken affiliated branch of FTI. This allowed to better communication with donors and to democratize decision-making in the organization.
